Rompetrol has equipped the Emergency Reception Unit (ERU) and the Plastic and Burn Surgery Department of the "St. Apostle Andrew" Constanța County Emergency Clinical Hospital with essential medical equipment, as part of a project aimed at strengthening the local healthcare system. The total value of the investment amounts to 720,000 lei.
"Through this investment, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the communities where we operate and to contributing tangibly to the improvement of local medical infrastructure. We believe that a company's performance is measured not only by financial results but also by its positive impact on society. We are proud to be part of the collective effort to offer more efficient and safer emergency medical services for the people of Constanța," stated Florian Pop, General Manager of Rompetrol Rafinare.
Among the donated equipment are a LUCAS 3 chest compression system, vital signs monitors, surgical aspirators, medical nebulizers, electric patient transfer stretchers, as well as a specialized burn treatment bathtub and a bathtub lift intended for the Plastic and Burn Surgery Department.
The LUCAS 3 device is the most advanced system of its kind available in Constanța County. It provides mechanical, efficient, and continuous cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which is critical in severe cases, including hypothermia, where prolonged manual resuscitation is challenging or unsustainable for medical staff. By automating chest compressions, the LUCAS 3 significantly increases the survival chances of critically ill patients.
The equipment provided to the Plastic and Burn Surgery Department, such as the burn treatment bathtub and the electric transfer stretcher, will support the recovery of patients suffering from severe burns or injuries, facilitating care procedures and minimizing the discomfort associated with internal transportation.
“We are grateful and deeply appreciate the support of Rompetrol Group's management, who stand by the people of Constanța County. These new additions are not just equipment — they represent additional chances at life for our patients. Thank you once again for being by our side!” – Jr. Raluca Ștefan, Manager of the County Emergency Hospital.
This initiative continues Rompetrol’s series of strategic investments in healthcare across Constanța County. Recently, the company, in partnership with the “Dăruiește Aripi” Association, supported the opening of the first regional center for the diagnosis and monitoring of autoimmune diseases in southeastern Romania, within the "St. Apostle Andrew" Constanța County Emergency Clinical Hospital. Moreover, Rompetrol and the "Dăruiește Aripi" Association have also equipped the Oncology Outpatient Clinic of the Pulmonology Hospital in Palazu, Constanța County, with state-of-the-art medical equipment, furniture, and IT technology. The new modular day hospitalization unit addresses the needs of patients with oncological and respiratory conditions from Constanța, Tulcea, and Călărași counties, significantly reducing waiting times for treatment initiation – a major issue in the past that endangered patients' lives.
Over time, Rompetrol has implemented numerous social and healthcare projects in local communities, contributing to the renovation and modernization of healthcare facilities not only in Constanța but also in other regions across the country. Healthcare investments have become a cornerstone of the Group’s social responsibility strategy, with annual allocations exceeding 1 million USD for such initiatives.
Rompetrol remains a trusted partner of the Constanța community, supporting sustainable development through investments in education, healthcare, environment, and culture.
